A safe & serene place to stay in the world's entertainment capital, our home on Benedict Canyon Drive currently offers two very clean & comfortable spaces:  The Private Guest Cottage and the Corner Master Suite

 

 

Each space was created for visiting artists, but you don't have to be an artist to enjoy the peace and pleasing aesthetics of these suites. Many of our guests return again and again to visit children and grandchildren in the area. They want to be nearby family but not underfoot, and they want to be at least be able to put some leftovers in a refrigerator at the end of the day. Whether for a few nights or a few months, we are delighted to offer some attractive alternatives to hotels.

South of Ventura Boulevard, this quiet and friendly niche of Sherman Oaks features  homes in the million-dollar range even in the current economic climate; the  homes are nevertheless unpretentious with their tastefully-sized lots and picket fences. A highly desirable neighborhood, it's centrally located, peaceful and safe, offering the best of both city life and suburbia. 

One mile north of Mullholland Drive, the property is minutes from NBC, CBS, ABC and Universal Studios as well as countless recording studios. Walk down to "Restaurant Row" for five-star Italian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Kosher, Thai and more. Or walk up to hiking and biking trails in the Santa Monica Mountain Nature Conservancy. Trader Joe's, Ralph's,Whole Foods, Bloomingdales and Macy's are within a mile of the house, not to mention window shopping on the Boulevard. 

The Westside, Beverly Hills, UCLA, Cedars Sinai Medical Center and much more are a short drive away. Non-nursing convalescent/post-surgical care  availablem, including room service, daily housekeeping, etc.. Please call with any specific needs.

Il Tiramisu Restaurante & Bar:  Northern Italian Cuisine just a block away...Five-star and truly the best! Say "Hello" to Ivo and Peter and Cathy for us. This has been a favorite of ours for at least fifteen years. I can't resist the Crespelle di Zucca: pasta rolls filled with butternut squash & ricotta cheese, sage cream sauce... yum. The chef and management are very accomodating if you have special dietary needs. Just let them know; they'll take care of you!

                Cafe Bizou is usually packed... amazing lobster bisque...

...And Bizen Sushi doesn't have a website, but they do have great fresh sushi in a nice low-key atmosphere; just four blocks away: 13447 Ventura Blvd.

There are two proprietors living in the main house. There are also two very clean, sweet, well-exercised and trained, highly-civilized dogs. They generally follow the owners everywhere and are not given access to the guest quarters.

In order to minimize stress on these rather chicken-hearted residents, we regret that no additional pets can be accommodated at this time.
